Comparing with traditional material decreasing manufacturing, like CNC machining, 3D printing is well known as additive manufacturing. The liquid resin(SLA) is cured by ultraviolet light and becomes solid layer by layer to form a model. So it allows us to realize complex part geometries by 3D printing.
